Funeral services 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial in the Fairmont Public Cemetery, Fairmont, Nebraska. Visitation from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva.
Delores Mae (Ellison) Baker was born nine miles west of Geneva, Nebraska on May 17, 1926 to William Ernest and Laura Anna (Hunt) Ellison. She was the 3rd child of three children in the family.
At six months the family moved northeast of Geneva where they lived until 1937. They then moved to Geneva. She went to District #3 through the 5th grade. She entered Geneva grade school and graduated from Geneva High School in 1944.
She married Francis Burzell Baker on December 21, 1947. To this union two children were born, Thomas Eugene on October 17, 1948 and Frances Irene on November 5, 1950. They made their home in Geneva until 1968 when they moved to Hebron.
Delores worked at the Nebraska Signal for 3 ½ years and at Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron for 28 years.
In 1997 she moved to Onaga, Kansas to be near her daughter. She joined New Hope Lutheran Church in Onaga in 1999.
Delores was preceded in death by her son Thomas in 1979, her parents, Ernest and Laura Ellison, mother-in-law, Anna (Baker) McMahan, brother Ralph O. and wife Elsie Ellison, sister, Iris E. and husband Glenn Finn, brother-in-law, Holly B. Jewell.
She is survived by her daughter Frances and husband Jackie Wegner of Onaga, Kansas, sisters-in-law, Laura (Jean) Baker and Esther Jewell both of Lincoln, NE Leone (George) Cox of Gothenburg, NE and many nieces and nephews.
