Jerry (Jerald) Dean Brandt was born to Wilmer Dean Brandt and Dorothy Lee (Bartels) Brandt on December 24, 1958 at Fairbury, NE and passed away on January 21, 2014 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 55 years and 27 days. He was one of two children in the family.

Jerry was baptized on Jan 4th, 1959 by the Rev. Edwin Beckler and confirmed on April 15, 1973 by the Rev. Ron Brusius at Zion Lutheran Church. Jerry attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School of Tobias and graduated from Meridian High in 1977. On September 8, 1979, Jerry was joined in holy matrimony to Connie Roesler at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Daykin by the Rev. Ted Fosdick. To this union, 3 children were born and they made their home in rural Western, NE.

Jerry was employed with Peterson Manufacturing for 22 years . Jerry has worked different jobs but was a full-time farmer at the present. He enjoyed working on the farm being with his cattle and greatly enjoyed the time he spent hunting with his family. Jerry enjoyed being a ‘papa’ and spending any extra time with his grandchildren. Most of all he enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table, looking out the window having endless discussions with his wife and kids.

Jerry was preceeded in death by his father Wilmer Brandt, mother-in-law Arlene Roesler, and father-in-law Kenneth Roesler.

He is survived by his wife Connie, sons Andrew and wife Stacey of Clatonia, Justin and his wife Krystle of Lincoln, and daughter Chelsey Brandt of Minden. Grandsons Addison and Stryder Brandt of Clatonia and granddaughter Payton Guthrie of Minden, mother Dorothy Brandt of Western, brother Terry Brandt and wife Terry Ann of Tobias. Brother-in-law Scott Roesler and wife Cheryl of Omaha, sisters-in-law Teresa Maschman and husband Jerry and Tami Rearick and Matt of Liberty, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Tobias.

Burial will follow the funeral in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Public visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva.

Memorials are directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
