A Mass of Christian Burial for MaryAnn will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Geneva, Nebraska with Father Harlan Waskowiak presiding. Praying of the Rosary will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Geneva, Nebraska. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Graveside Services will be conducted following the Funeral Mass at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in rural Shickley, Nebraska. Memorials are to be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Mary Catholic Church. MaryAnn (Jacque) Rosenquist was born on a farm near Shickley, Nebraska to Anton Jacque and Dorothy (Witt) Jacque on March 9, 1933 and passed away in Geneva, Nebraska on March 10, 2023 at the age of 90 years and one day. She was the eldest of four children. She grew up on the farm, doing chores, spending her free time playing with her siblings, and visiting cousins. She attended School District #49 through 8th grade and graduated from Geneva High School in 1950. On February 13, 1954 she married Leland Rosenquist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church near Shickley. To this union 4 children were born: Robert, Leah (Jody), Leland Jr. and Angela. After her marriage, she worked at a variety of jobs, the last job being at the Shickley State Bank, where she made many lifelong friends. She was an avid reader, loved to coffee with her friends, to go dancing on the weekends, and to go travelling with the York State Bank travel club. But most important to her was time spent with family. Every holiday was an excuse to gather the family together, for food, fun and lots of reminiscing. There were no strangers when it came time for a family gathering. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities whenever possible. She was always excited at the news that a new grandbaby was on the way. She was a strong woman with a great sense of humor. When she made a decision, she stuck with it, and when she made a promise, she fulfilled it. Her sense of humor, her strength, but most of all, the love and care she had for all will be missed by all of those who knew her. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leland, brother Don, daughter-in-law Jodi, and brother-in-law Lowell Houts. She is survived by her children Robert Rosenquist, Jody (Rick) Bailey, Leland (Carol) Rosenquist, and Angela (Darren) Radcliff; grandchildren Brooklyn (Francisco) Gamboa, Logan (Cody) Houser, Fallon (Duane) Gibson, Courtney (Jason) Mccaslin, Nicole (Daniel) Layher, Melissa Rosenquist, Carrston (Andrea) Powell, and Benjamin (Jackie) Powell. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Alia and Adam Gamboa; Kirsten, Shane, and Conner Gibson; Theodore Layher; Waylon Powell; Lily, Hazel, Ted, and Jacob Powell; great-great grandchildren Shaylynn and Xayver Gibson; by her sisters Marjorie (Monty) Longacre and Bonnie Houts, as well as by many nieces, nephews and friends.
