A Funeral Service for Brenda will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Geneva, Nebraska with Kim Dunker presiding. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Geneva Public Cemetery in Geneva, Nebraska. Brenda Lou Mumm was born to Don and Loretta (Swihart) Vale on December 2nd 1957 in Central City, Nebraska and passed away on February 21, 2023 at the age of 65 years 2 months and 19 days in Geneva. When her mother passed away, Brenda and her sister were adopted by her aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Dorthea Saum of Davenport, Nebraska. Brenda graduated from Davenport High School in 1976. She attended Mary Lanning School of Nursing graduating in 1979. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Omaha in 1985. Brenda was active in the Girl Scouts, Pep Club and Methodist Youth Fellowship. Brenda married Paul Mumm on November 19, 1977 at the Methodist Church in Davenport Nebraska. To this union Brian and Ivan were born. Family was very important to Brenda. This was evident by all of the family events Brenda and Paul hosted over the years. Brenda was a very devoted nurse over the years by working various positions. She worked as a floor nurse, outpatient coordinator, home health and director of nursing at Fillmore County Hospital. She was also a Utilization Review nurse at York General Hospital and finished her career at Aseracare and Heritage Crossings in Geneva before her illness made it impossible to work. Brenda is proceeded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Dorthea Saum and brother, Perry Vale. She is survived by her husband, Paul, sons, Brian (Heather) Mumm and Ivan (Andrea) Mumm, grandchildren Mackenzie, Addison, Colton, Avery and Reagan Mumm of Geneva. Sisters, Carla (Dale) Roettger of Nebraska City, Dee (David) Mai of Salina, KS. Brothers-in-Law, Todd (Cindy) Mumm of Bertrand, NE and Blake (Rhonda) Mumm of Hebron, NE and a host of nieces and nephews.
