Carolyn Jean Mosier

Carolyn Jean (Lauber) Mosier, 83, of Fairmont, Nebraska, formerly of Davenport, Nebraska, passed away July 9th, 2024 at Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Fairmont, Nebraska. She was born on December 21, 1940, on a farm east of Shickley, Nebraska to Henry and Fern (Troyer) Lauber. Carolyn lived a very active and inspiring life. She grew up as a child on the farm near Shickley, Nebraska. She graduated from Shickley High School and started working as a telephone operator in Geneva, Nebraska. She was active in the Salem Mennonite Church during her youth. She married Wendel Mosier and was married to him for 57 years until his death in 2018. Over the years, Carolyn worked for a variety of administrative and sales jobs in addition to being a homemaker, always ensuring everything was in order at home and everyone had enough to eat. A dedicated Christian her entire life, Carolyn was a longtime, faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport. There, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, volunteered for the church’s activities and vacation bible school. Carolyn was involved in the singing group, “Farmerettes”, which performed in the community. She enjoyed the friendships she made and loved to sing. She was active in the community serving and participating in Women’s Club and other community events. She enjoyed most of all visiting with other friends and family. Her presence will be deeply missed by those she held dear. Carolyn loved her family and created an amazing legacy of kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was proud of each of their accomplishments and supported them by attending school award ceremonies, athletic, music, drama events, graduations, birthday celebrations and their weddings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendel Mosier; parents, Henry & Fern Lauber; father & mother-in-law, Charley & Ethel Mosier; brother, Philip Lauber; sisters, Nelda Moore and LaRayne Siegmann; brothers-in-law, Ronald Moore, Dennis Ulrich and Duane Mealey; sisters-in-law, Iola Mosier and Sue Mosier. She is survived by her sons, Darrel (Caroline) Mosier of Shickley, Nebraska, Reynold (Susie) Mosier of Manhattan, Kansas, Clark (Nancy) Mosier of Aurora, Nebraska, and Matthew (Kathy) Mosier of Strang, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, John (Mary) Lauber of Brownville, Nebraska; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Ulrich of Hesston, Kansas and Lois (Glenn) Zook of Dublin, Ohio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Connie (Stan) Morgan of Wichita, Kansas, James Siegmann of Goshen, Indiana, Verlin Mosier of Hebron, Nebraska, Shelby (Gaylord) Ehlers of Deshler, Nebraska, Millie Mealey of San Diego, California, and Marilyn Bargen of Hebron, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, JoLynn (Aaron) and Arthur Powell; Crayton (Brigett) and Henry Mosier; Caitlin (Matthew) LaFrenz, Kegan (Mikelle), Reese, Judah and Hunter Mosier; Paige (Trevor), Nova and Jupiter Willis; Blake (Jennifer) Mosier, Tristen, Sarah and Shelby Wilson; Ross Mosier; Ryan (Dannica) Mosier; Joshua Mosier; Tristen (Charles) and Wesley Metzger; Zachary Mosier; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Mennonite Church, rural Shickley, Nebraska. Pastor Mike Row officiated the Funeral Service. Ross Mosier accompanied the congregation in the singing of “God Be With You Til We Meet Again” and “Yet Not I, But In Christ Through Me.” Ross also accompanied the grandchildren in the special song of “It Is Well With My Soul.” Pallbearers for the service included Kegan Mosier, Blake Mosier, Crayton Mosier, Ross Mosier, Zachary Mosier, Ryan Mosier, and Joshua Mosier. Honorary Pallbearers for the service included Paige Willis, JoLynn Powell, Tristen Metzger, and Caitlin LaFrenz. A Graveside Service was held in the Davenport Cemetery following the Funeral Service.
