A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Geneva, Nebraska with Father Harlan Waskowiak presiding. Praying of the Rosary will be held prior to the funeral mass on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Geneva, Nebraska at 10:00 a.m. with Father Harland Waskowiak leading the rosary. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be conducted following the funeral mass in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Geneva, Nebraska. Memorials are to be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Evelyn Marie Reinsch Dorman was born to Ernest Reinsch and Florence Jacque on December 3, 1923 at Shickley, Nebraska, and passed away on October 13, 2022, at Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 98. She was one of five (5) children in the family. Evelyn attended Shickley Country School before graduating from Geneva High School in 1941. She worked at the Nebraska Signal before getting married to Jim Dorman of Ada, Oklahoma, on November 27, 1944. After WWII, and the birth of her two children, James Jr and Victoria, she returned to work at the Fillmore County Assessor’s Office. She eventually began working at Geneva State Bank (now Heartland Bank) of Geneva, where she worked her way up to bank officer before her retirement at age 65. A cancer survivor, she has lived her entire life in Fillmore County, but mostly Geneva. Evelyn loved gardening and especially loved her roses. She had lifelong friends, many of whom were regulars at their Friday afternoon coffees at the Geneva VFW. It was often joked that “coffee” was probably the only drink not on the table. She was an avid reader and also an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Geneva. She also loved to travel and spent many happy winters in Louisiana and Texas with her husband Jim in their camper, where she would visit her daughter, Vicki, and her family in Louisiana and a regular group of winter friends. She would also visit her son, James, a career Navy man, in places like Pensacola, Los Angeles, Niagara Falls, and San Diego where she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents Ernest and Florence Reinsch; her brother Ronald and brother William (Bill) and his wife Dorothy; her son-in-law Terrance Placzek; and her daughter-in-law Carol Dorman. She is survived by her son James L. Dorman, Jr and wife Joanne of Fairhope, AL; daughter Victoria Placzek of Baton Rouge, LA; brother Francis J (Tanny) Reinsch and his wife Marilyn of Fairmont, NE; sister Camilla Lauber of Dallas, TX; granddaughter Carrie Popp and husband Jeff of Murrieta, CA; grandson Christopher Dorman and fiancé Shelley of Vista, CA; granddaughter Erin Adkinson and husband Marcus of Fairhope, AL; granddaughter Katherine Huntley and husband Onnikki of Twentynine Palms, CA; grandson Alex Placzek and wife Jessica of Baton Rouge, LA; great-grandsons Jackson and Lucas Popp of Murrieta, CA; great-grandchildren Bridget, Logan and Maeve Adkinson of Fairhope, AL; and newborn great-granddaughter Audrey Placzek of Baton Rouge, LA; niece Laurie Reinsch of Lincoln; niece Christine Sissel and husband Reg of Davenport; nephew Bill Reinsch and wife Pam of Plattsmouth; niece Karen Dietrich and husband Greg of Chico, CA; nephew Steve Reinsch and wife Beth of Omaha; niece Cheryl Schneider and husband David of Plattsmouth; nephew Doug Rosener and wife Denise of Austin, TX; nephew Ron Rosener and wife Pam of Dallas, TX; nephew Greg Rosener and wife Julie of Dallas, TX; niece Sandy Valdez and husband Ben of Pueblo, CO; and nephew Randy Reinsch of Las Vegas, NV.
