Imogene M. Ough

Imogene Maxine (Schroder) Ough was born to Friedrich Henry Schroder and Louise Gesina Anna (Hopken) Schroder on January 2, 1926, at Ohiowa, Nebraska and passed away on December 9, 2017 at Heritage Crossings Nursing Home in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 7 days. She was one of 7 children born in the family. Imogene lived in various communities including Ohiowa, Geneva, Lincoln, Strang, Davenport, and Shickley before finally returning and retiring in Geneva. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1943. Employment in life included working at the Fairmont Army Air Base, Miller & Paine, and Scoular Bishop Grain Company. Imogene was a member of Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church in Geneva. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, James; brothers Floyd, Walter, Earl & Eldon; and sisters Leona Eppler & Elsie Hinrichs. She is survived by her son Raymond Ough and wife Ardie of Beatrice, Nebraska; daughter Mary Stanislav and husband Rich of Central City, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Florence Schroder of Grand Island, Nebraska and Lois Ough of Hampton, Nebraska; brother-in-law Norman Ough and wife Clara of Hebron, Nebraska; grandchildren Jim Ough, Mike & Hannah Ough, Brenda Stanislav, Rick & Delisa Schafer, Rand & Allie Schafer, Rob & Andrea Schafer, Stacy & Danny Young, Tracy Oliver; great grandchildren Justin & Casci Schafer, Dawson Schafer, Taylor & Nolan Schafer, Brooklyn & Addison Schafer, Garrett & Keri Kent, Chessa Young, Hunter & Carly Oliver, Halle & Seth Mann, Treyton Oliver, Tucker Oliver; great great grandchildren Castin & Jasci Schafer, Palmer Kent, Finley Oliver and Kalle Mann. A Memorial Service for Imogene was held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church in Geneva. PMA Jim Germer and Pastor Judy Nuss officiated the service. Sharie Hubert provided the prelude and postlude music and also accompanied the congregation in the singing of “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” It was Imogene’s wish to be cremated, and private inurnment was held in the Geneva Public Cemetery next to her husband, James.
