Marjorie R. "Marge" Kennel

A Private Family Graveside Service for Marge will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Geneva Public Cemetery in Geneva, Nebraska. Dallas Schlegel will preside over the Service. A Public Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family. Marjorie Ruth Eichelberger was born to Menno and Lena (Troyer) Eichelberger on a farm near Shickley, on March 12, 1934, and passed away at her home on June 12, 2023 at the age of 89 years and 3 months. Marge attended country School District 59 until the eighth grade. She was baptized in 1948 at Salem Mennonite Church. She spent her teenage years helping her older sisters as they raised their families. Marge married Galen Kennel on December 20, 1956. They were loving parents to three children: Rex, Peg and Martin, She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Kerri and husband Scott Price of York, Kelli and husband Luke Dorris of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kimberly Kennel of Shickley, and Kaily and husband Jordan Stutzman of Milford. Alanna and husband Ron Kramer of Seward, Cameron Ward of Geneva, Anthony Kennel and Hailey of Shickley, Aaron Kennel and Chelsea of Geneva, Lena Kennel and Gabriel Kennel of Baker, Montana. Great-grandchildren, Madison, Carson, and Jaxon Kramer, Lilly Fuehrer, and Wyatt, Savannah and Charlotte Dorris of – Port St. Lucie, Florida. Marge loved being a homemaker, Mother, and Grandmother. She faithfully followed her children and grandchildren throughout their sporting events. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, chickens, horses and quilting. Her homemade cinnamon rolls were a most requested treat by her family. You would always be treated with coffee and dessert when you stopped in for a visit. She was lovingly called Grandma Chicken by her great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Martin, parents, Menno & Lena Eichelberger, In-laws, Harry and Sylvia Kennel, brother, Wayne, brother and wife, Don & Edna Eichelberger, sisters and husbands, Waunita & Glenn Roth, Edna & Aal Schlegel, Wilda & Sterling Noel, Arla & Harley Rediger and Karen Sanntog. Left to mourn her passing: husband, Galen of 66 years, Rex & Lori Kennel, Peg & Dan Ward, Linda Kennel, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As well as many extended family and friends Funeral services were conducted by Farmer & Son Funeral home with Dallas Schlegel officiating the service.
