Ronald A. Bauer

It was Ronald's wishes to be cremated. There will be no services held at this time. Ron’s family will celebrate his life at a later date out on the West Coast. Memorials are to be directed to the American Cancer Society in honor of his wife, Kathryn; they can be mailed to: Mr. Paul Bauer 120 N 16th Street Geneva, NE 68361 Ronald Arthur Bauer was born to William Daniel and Sarah Christena (Griess) Bauer on March 21, 1929, in Sutton, Nebraska, and passed away on March 11, 2026, at Westfield Quality Care of Aurora in Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 96 years. He was one of 9 children in the family. He graduated from Geneva High School with the class of 1947. Following high school, he joined the United States Air Force in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. During his time serving our country, he was stationed in Morocco. He was married to Kathryn Ruth Schrock of Shickley, Nebraska, on June 9, 1951, and to them 5 children were born, their first child being born in 1952. He worked on a farm until 1960, and then they moved back to Geneva. He was a pitcher for an inner-city fast-pitch softball league in his young adult life. He and one of his brothers were commercial farmers from 1960 until 1963. In 1964, he and his family moved to Mankato, Minnesota, where he attended Bethany Lutheran College, learning his art in custom home building and welcoming their 4th child in 1966. Their 5th child was born in 1967, making their family complete. In 1970, the family moved to Prescott, Arizona, where he built homes and also had a part in the building of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 1980, the whole family moved to California, where he continued working as a contractor. In 1996, his wife, Kathy, passed away. He eventually remarried and moved back to Geneva, Nebraska. Ron enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee. He had a great love for his work and could always see him out working in his yard. Although his career consisted of building homes, his true love was farming. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah Bauer; his wives, Kathryn (Schrock) Bauer & Lola (Boyes) Bauer; his brothers, Bill, Lawrence, and Loraine; and his sisters, Ilene, Ruth, Donna, and Marrion. He is survived by his sister, Betty, and his children, Ron, Steve, Deb, Beth, and Paul.
