Wilbur T. Catron

Wilbur Thomas Catron born to John J. Catron Sr. and Mary Anne (Moore) Catron Born December 8,1965 at St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away October 11, 2019 at his home in the care of his wife in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 53 years. He’s one of 4 children. He was a Veteran OTR Truck Driver putting in nearly 40 years of service to the U.S. economy. He worked for several trucking outfits throughout the years including Potter Transport in Boonville, Missouri, Koch Trucking, US Foods and a joint business with his father, J&W Trucking. Wilbur married Dena Lea Nelson of Geneva Nebraska, on July 21, 2018 at Guinness Mountain, Colorado. Driving big rigs and riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles was a tremendous joy in the life of Wilbur. His trucking career went on for 39 years until he became ill due to his cancer. He was a retired member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club out of Los Angeles, California, which he served as a member of for 35 years. Wilbur also loved working on motors whatever the size and was planning on building a racing truck until his dreams fell short due to his cancer diagnosis. He never was able to complete that dream. Wilbur was a people person, he was loved by many and he will sadly be missed, but will remain in our hearts forever. He is preceded in death by John J. Catron, his father, Mary Anne Moore Catron, his mother, and an infant brother, James Catron. He is survived by his wife, Dena Lea Nelson Catron, two stepsons, Kristopher Ward and Keaton Hunkins, a step daughter, Allexis Smith, brother, John Catron Jr. of St. Joseph, Missouri, brother & sister in law, Charles & Pamela Catron of Metford, Wisconsin, sister & brother in law, Debra & Chuck Jeffers of Martell, Nebraska, 6 children, Shelby Lynnn & Wyatt of Iowa, Kallie, Kenzie, Kyle, and Kaleb of St. Joseph, Missouri, one grandson and many nieces and nephews. The family of Wilbur will have two celebrations of life services. The first will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. held at the VFW club in Geneva, Nebraska. The second to be held at a later date in the spring, in Missouri at the graveside of Wilbur’s mother. After which, his ashes will be spread on Guinness Mountain in Colorado where he and his wife got married. The family asks to send all cards and donations in lieu of flowers to his wife, Dena Catron, at PO Box 243, Geneva, NE 68361.
