A Funeral Service for Allen will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley, Nebraska with Pastor James Moll presiding. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Graveside Services will be conducted following the funeral service at the Shickley Public Cemetery in Shickley, Nebraska. Memorials are to be directed to the family to be designated at a later date in memory of Allen. Allen was born to Kathryn (Johannsen) Headrick and Allen Minor Headrick, Sr. on November 20th, 1926 at Alexandria, Nebraska. He passed away April 22, 2021 at the age of 94 years and five months at Fairview Manor, Fairmont, NE. He resided with his mother and step-father (Daniel Schrock) in rural Shickley, Nebraska. On March, 1935 he was baptized at age 8, and was confirmed on April 6th, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shickley. He attended school at Martland and Shickley until the 10th grade, in 1945 he was called into service with the 511 Airborne Division of the Army. On January 26th, 1947 he married LaNora Mae Hopken of Martland. They farmed for several years and then moved to Shickley in 1952 where he worked for Alf’s Well Drilling. He worked for Johnson’s Feed Mill and the United Postal Service as a carrier in York, NE. In 1971 he took a correspondence course in upholstery and opened his own business which he operated until retirement in 1993. He was a school bus driver for Shickley Public Schools until 1994, he enjoyed the kids and watching their activities and athletics. In 1973 he started to work on his General Education Diploma and in 1976 he received his HS Diploma for the Shickley class of 1944. He valued education and made sure that his children had an opportunity to attend college. Allen and LaNora had three children Suzanne Galyen of Meadow Grove, Nebraska and Dr. Dennis Headrick of Lincoln, formerly of Plymouth, NE and infant child, Ella Headrick. Allen loved fishing, traveling, camping, playing guitar and just visiting with people and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was involved in the community of Shickley, Zion Lutheran Church, always looking for ways to help youth and others. After LaNora’s death in 2006, Allen met Patricia (Ohnesorge)Houck/Hobbs and they married in 2007 and lived in Geneva until his death. Allen was preceded in death by his 1st wife, LaNora (Hopken) Headrick, daughter, Ella Headrick, parents Allen Minor Headrick, Sr., Kathryn(Johannsen) Headrick/Schrock, Step-father Daniel Schrock, brothers and sisters – Benjamin Headrick, Donald Headrick, Ira Schrock, Joy Schrock, Virgil Schrock, Ann (Schrock) Jacobsen, Kathy (Schrock)Bauer, Sister-in-law Virjean (Hopken) and Waldo Schinzel, Brother-in-law Lambert and Virginia Hopken, Son-in-Law Eugene Galyen, Step children Scott Houck, Janelle (Houck) Bruning. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Hobbs) Headrick, Geneva, daughter Suzanne Galyen, Meadow Grove, son Dennis and wife Lorie Headrick, Lincoln, Grandchildren – Michael Galyen, Omaha, Ryan Galyen, wife Katie, Lincoln, Mark Galyen, wife Danielle, Princeton, Jana (Headrick)Dux, husband Mike, Holly Springs, NC, Kristin (Headrick) Cable, husband Ryan, Leawood KS. Great Grandchildren – Ethne Dux, Caris Dux, Graham Cable, Asher Galyen, Emeri Galyen, Tobias Galyen, Wesley Jean Galyen, Addisyn Galyen, Mileigh Galyen, Step children Jody Houck, & Sondra Myers and husband Delwin of Strang, Doug Bruning of Bruning. Sister Donna Jacobsen of Lincoln, Brother Daniel Dean Schrock of Oklahoma, Brother-in-Law Ronald Bauer of Geneva, NE.
