Bryant Dean Mussman was born to Rex Allen Mussman and Naomi Lynn (Clark) Mussman on May 19th, 1989 in Geneva, Nebraska and passed away January 26th, 2014 in Belvidere, Nebraska at the age of 24 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was the youngest of three children in his family. Bryant grew up in Ohiowa, Nebraska and lived there for the majority of his life. He recently moved to Geneva to live with his fiancée. Bryant attended grade school in Ohiowa and Jr. High and High School at Bruning-Davenport Public School, from which he graduated in 2008. After graduation, he went on to attend Southeast Community College in Beatrice, Nebraska. Through high school Bryant worked for Scott Schelkopf at Cornhusker Farms. After returning from college he worked for Darrel and Matt Mosier as a farm production assistant in Shickley. He continued his farming career by returning to Cornhusker Farms to work for Scott Schelkopf. The Schelkopfs and Mosiers were more than bosses to him, they became like family. Bryant was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohiowa. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s. Growing up, he was an active member of the youth group and served the church as an usher during his adult years. Bryant loved to farm. Whether he was spending extra time at his job or helping out around the family farm, he truly enjoyed what he was doing. Throughout his childhood and high school years, Bryant was very involved in 4-H and was passionate about working with cattle. Bryant was always creative in the kitchen and perfected the art of grilling steak. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Bryant was a very outgoing and social person who could brighten anyone’s day with his infectious smile. He recently experienced the joy of fatherhood and loved his new son Brantley Wyatt and fiancée Traci. Bryant was preceded in death by his uncle Lyle Mussman of Ohiowa and Grandfather David Clark of Geneva, and great grandfather Henry Mussman of Ohiowa. He is survived by his son Brantley Mussman of Geneva, Fiancée Traci Larkins of Geneva, parents Rex and Lynn Mussman of Ohiowa, Brother Henry Mussman of Ohiowa, Brother and sister-in-law Chris and Holly Mussman of Bruning, Grandparents Dallas and Claire Ann Mussman of Geneva, Grandmother Linda Clark of Geneva, and Step-Grandmother Nina Clark of Geneva. Funeral services were conducted from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohiowa, Nebraska on Wednesday, January 29th with Pastor James Sells officiating. Pallbearers were Brady Larkins of Deshler, Scott Schelkopf of Geneva, Darrel Mosier of Shickley, Cody Houser of Lincoln, Justin Nathan of Geneva, and Brandon Jones of Hebron. Interment was in Ohiowa Public Cemetery with Farmer & Sons Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Memorials are directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohiowa and a special college education fund will be established for Brantley Wyatt Mussman.
