Claudette Lee Thomsen was born to Claude Amos & Edna Elizabeth (Grubbs) Loghry on July 24, 1941 at Geneva, Nebraska, and passed away on September 20, 2021 at her home in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 27 days. She was one of 4 children in the family. Claudette spent her childhood in Geneva, graduating from Geneva High School in 1959. After graduation, she enrolled in York College where she majored in education. She continued her education at Doane College graduating with a teaching degree. Claudette was married to Dwaine Thomsen of Cordova, Nebraska, and to them two children were born. After her marriage to Dwaine, she became a farm wife. She then started a clothing business in Geneva Called ‘Jeans North’ on the north side of the square and soon after started another store called the ‘Muppet Shop,’ a clothing store for infants and toddlers. She combined the two stores into one which she operated for 14 years. Claudette and Dwaine divorced and she moved to Wahoo, Nebraska and began working as a bookkeeper for a construction business. During her time in Wahoo, she enjoyed horseback riding and managing a stable. She tried retirement for three months, but retirement wasn’t for her so she continued to work taking a job in home care, which she did for several years, while also working part-time at Bullock Construction as a bookkeeper. She fully retired in February of 2021 and moved to Fairmont where made many new friends and was reacquainted with old ones. Claudette enjoyed travelling, especially to Branson, Missouri, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and to trace family history in a number of other states. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents; brother Alvin Loghry; sisters and brother-in-law Carol Lynn & Jimmy Dodd and Carol Fay Loghry; and great nephew Jameson Plock. She is survived by her son Jeffery Thomsen of Fairmont, Nebraska; daughter Patty (Chuck) Udell of Geneva, Nebraska; niece Amy (Tony) Wurtz; nephews Chris Henry of Columbus, Nebraska and Shaun Henry of Hastings, Nebraska, Shannon (Rebecca) Plock of Lincoln, Nebraska; and special companion pet, Gidget; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
