    October 13, 1930 - April 8, 2017

    A Funeral Service will be held for Henry on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home - Kotas Chapel in Milligan, Nebraska with Fr. Steve Thomlison officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home - Kotas Chapel in Milligan, Nebraska. Military Honors for Henry will follow his Funeral Service at Farmer & Son F.H. - Kotas Chapel. Cremation will follow the Funeral Service. Graveside Service will be conducted at a later date. Memorials are to be directed to the family for a later designation. Henry J. Rohla was born October 13, 1930 to Henry B and Elsie (Krupicka) Rohla on the farm, Madison Township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. He passed away April 8, 2017 at Heritage Crossings in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 5 months, 26 days. Henry was a life long farmer in the Milligan area, worked for Biba’s after graduating from high school for 4 years. He served in the United States Navy from February 16, 1953 until February 16, 1955 when he was honorable discharged. Henry married Frances Anne Zumpfe on August 28, 1957 in Friend, Nebraska. They would have celebrated 60 years together this year. To this union, three children were born: Henry J., Jr., Louise, and Duane. Henry was a Vigortone Dealer, a member of the Milligan School Board, ESU #6, American Legion, Milligan Rural Fire Department and Fillmore County Pork Board. Henry enjoyed listening and dancing to Polka music and watching his grandchildren show livestock at county and state fairs in Kansas and Nebraska. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister-in-law Betty Zumpfe. He leaves to morn his wife, Frances, sons Henry J., Jr., Milligan, Duane (Deb) Rohla of Kearney, daughter Louise M (Russell) Cooper, Lousburg KS, four grandchildren: Matthew L Cooper of Essex Jct., VT, Jessica A. Cooper of Nashville, NC. Courtney (US Navy Corpsman) husband Walker Weatherly (AWO) of Florida and LCpl Jacob Rohla US Marine stationed overseas. Brothers –in-Law Lumir Zumpfe and Adolf (Erma) Zumpfe, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
