A Memorial Service for Jim will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva. A Graveside Service will be held in the Geneva Public Cemetery following the Memorial Service. Military Honors will be provided by the Nebraska Military Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. James Warren Keyes was born to George Keyes and Marion (Otis) Keyes on July 20, 1930 in York Nebraska, and passed away November 25, 2019 at home in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 6 days. He was one of 8 children in the family Jim was a traveler and lived in various places throughout his life. He was raised in York. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1954 in Korea. He has also lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, Phoenix, Arizona, Lincoln, Nebraska, and most recently in Geneva, Nebraska. He was a handyman who held several jobs as well, including teaching at a trade school, owning his own heating and air company and sewing machine and vacuum cleaner sales and repair business. In retirement, he kept busy with household repairs, gardening, fishing, and a wood working shop. Jim was preceded in death by his parents George and Marion Keyes; son Jeff Keyes; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Jim is survived by sons Wilbur Keyes of York, Nebraska, Paul Keyes of Dearborn, Michigan; daughters Marion Keyes of Indianapolis, Indiana, Judy England of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter-in-law Bonnie Keyes of Geneva, Nebraska; his pet Macaw and best friend, Samson; sister Katherine Merchant; 8 grand children; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
