    April 9, 1950 - August 2, 2021

    A Funeral Service for James will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, Nebraska with Pastor Ben Kaiser presiding. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family greeting the public from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Graveside Services will be conducted following the funeral service in the Greenwood Cemetery in York, Nebraska. Memorials are to be directed to the Emmanuel Lutheran School. James “Jim” Henry Lage, 71, passed away at his home on Monday, August 2, 2021 in York, Nebraska. He is the son of Rudolph and Dorothy Lage, and was born April 9, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska. On March 21, 1971 he married Niki Ward in Grand Island, Nebraska. Jim enjoyed football in his youth-both playing for and cheering on the York Dukes and was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his youth was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Jim worked at various occupations throughout his life-including positions with Burlington Northern Railroad and Sundstrand Aviation. Survivors include his wife, Niki; his daughter and son, Dustina Lage Bittner (husband, Alexander Bittner) of Springfield, Virginia, and Trenton Lage (wife, Melissa Lage) of Palmer Lake, Colorado; 4 grandchildren Maelin, Renna, Seger, and Alexis; 2 sisters Dee Stenstrom of Wisconsin, and Janet (Lage) Anderson of Louisiana, as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his mother-in-law Lucille Ward, and his grandson Kaden Lage.
