Joan M. Dunker

September 18, 1933 - December 26, 2011

Joan Marie Rohr Dunker was born to Henry Rohr and Hazel Rupert Rohr on September 18, 1933 near Ohiowa, Nebraska and passed away December 26, 2011 at Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 78 years, three months, and eight days. She was one of three children in the family. Joan was married to Frederick (Fritz) Dunker on February 24, 1952 and to them three children were born. Joan was a longtime resident of Fillmore County after having graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a fifty year member of the United Methodist Church. She was a farm-wife and mother also working in the housekeeping department for Sunset Home and the Fillmore County Hospital as well as working for Most Grocery in Ohiowa. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; father, Henry Rohr of Tobias; mother, Hazel Bagg of York; step-father, Chester Bagg of York; brother Lawrence Rohr of Lincoln; sister Delores Jiskra and brother-in-law Eugene Jiskra of Tobias. She is survived by her sons Jim and wife Kim of Geneva; Dave and wife Joni of Sutton; Chris and wife Julie of Strang, Grandchildren Danielle, Andrew and wife JoDee, John, and Tom, Great grandsons Owen, Jackson, and Bret, sister-in-law Pat Rippe and husband Willard of Hebron, and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Joan will be Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Shickley, Nebraska. There will be no visitation.
