    Marian D. Baumann

    February 24, 1923 - February 13, 2013

    Marian Darlene Baumann was born on February 24, 1923. She was the second of six daughters born to August and Martha (Spielman) Heinz at the Heinz family home in Sutton. She went to be with her loving Savior on February 13, 2013. Marian was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton and attended Sutton Public School. She graduated in 1941, and taught at District #16 for two years. In 1943 she began work at the Harvard Army Air Base, where she remained until it closed after the war. On Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to Donald Baumann at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton. To this union three children were born – Susan Beth, Cynthia Ann, and James Edward. Marian was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton and sang in the choir for many years. She spent her married life helping her husband in the family business. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, in 1979, her daughter Cindy, in 2007, her parents, and sisters; Edith, Norma, Ruth, Janice and Grace. She is survived by her daughter Susan of Grafton, son James and wife Roxann of Grafton, grandsons Zachary Baumann of State College, PA, Aaron Baumann and wife Bobbi of Fairmont, granddaughter Megan Baumann and fiancée Tyler Gewecke of Geneva and son-in-law Bob Brill of Hastings. Funeral services for Marian will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grafton, Nebraska. Interment will be in the Grafton Public Cemetery. Public visitation will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Memorials are directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Grafton Rescue Unit.
