    Marian L. Myers

    March 7, 1918 - February 27, 2015

    Marian Leone Myers was born to William Randolph Wilkins and Ruth Emily Davis March 7, 1918 at the family farm home near Martland, Nebraska. She died February 27, 2015. Marian attended Martland school district 55 through the first semester of her freshman year. She attended Geneva Public High School graduating in 1936. During the six years after graduation Marian worked at several places she never applied for any of the jobs she was asked to work at Geneva Milling Company, The Fillmore County Shop, Geneva Sewing Center, Geneva Public Schools Library and at the Fillmore Sheriffs Office . Each job was advancement for Marian. February 1, 1942 Marian was married to Vorus Myers of Wichita, KS. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Vorus and Marian enjoyed 50 years of marriage. She was baptized November 27,1927 in the United Brethern Church in Martland Ne. She was a very loyal and faithful member until 1932 when the family moved to Geneva. From 1932-1942 she was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was active in choir and a Sunday School teacher. Upon Vorus and Marian's marriage, they lived in Wichita, KS. During the war, Vorus was employed at Beech Craft airplane factory. Returning to Chelsea township and their farm, they raised their family. As the children grew up, Marian became involved in many of their school activities. In 1954 the family joined the Congregational Church and she was involved in choir, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, past president of circle, general fellowship and member of the music committee. She also was a 4-H leader for 9 years. Past president of Fillmore Co.Farm Bureau, County Republicans Women's chairman. She was honored as the oldest attending graduate at the alumni banquet last year 2014. Her children and grandchildren have been a great blessing to her. Her home always had an open door for those in need. She loved her yard, flowers and garden. It was always a joy to share with others. Marian also loved to read sew and do china painting. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Vorus , son Vance Lee and wife Marilyn , Daughter-in law Ravonna , Great granddaughter Micalea Kalkwarf. She is survived by her children Vaden and Claudia Myers, Cheryl Anderson, Kurt and Jan Myers and Kent and Cheryl Myers, Grandchildren: Russ and Michelle Kalkwarf, Kevin and Kara Myers, Steve Anderson Susan Anderson and fiancé Randy Pruitt, Brian and Tonie Sachs, Vance Jr. and Jaimie Myers, Aaron and Lisa Blake, Jamie & Melissa Myers, Matt and Dana Myers, Jeff Larson and Amy Myers, Mark & Courtney Gewecke, Adam Myers and fiancé Amy Daniels; Great grandchildren Haley Kalkwarf, Josh Kalkwarf, Braden Myers, Kody Myers, Adilyn Myers, Fisher Pruitt, Parker Pruitt, Bailee Sachs, Ethan Sachs, Dylan Sachs, Vadin Myers, Devin Myers, Colton Blake, Kiley Blake, Kenzie Blake, Karson Myers, Eli Myers, Hannah Myers, Logan Myers, Chase Myers, Allie Myers, Marlee Myers, Gunner Gewecke, Dylan Gewecke, Vikter Myers; Step-grandchildren: Brad West, Clark & Anjanette Kindelspire, Sara Furnas; Step great grandchildren, Chelsea Kindelspire, Taylor KIndelspire, Will Furnas, Zac Furnas, Lexi Furnas and Luke Larson. Funeral service for Marian will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Geneva, Nebraska. Public Visitation will begin Monday at 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska. Interment will be in the Geneva Public Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ or the Family for later designation.
