    Mildred H. Rut

    September 23, 1919 - November 17, 2011

    Mildred H. Rut was born to John Weber and Rose Meyer Weber on September 23, 1919, at Alexandria, Nebraska and passed away November 17, 2011 at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 25 days. She was one of 3 children in the family. Mildred was born on a farm east of the Bruning Airbase. Mildred attended country school through the eighth grade. She then worked for her grandmother and several other families. Mildred was baptized in the Lutheran Church and later joined the Catholic Church. Mildred married James B. Rut on November 28, 1939 in Tobias, Nebraska and to this union one son Roger was born. Mildred and Jim farmed all their married lives in the Ohiowa, Alexandria and Milligan area. They lived on the Bruning Airbase and when they built the base they had to move off in a very short time. Mildred loved helping in the field. She raised many ducks and chickens and made many quilts that she gave to family members and to the church for raffles. Due to failing health Jim and Mildred had a farm sale and moved to Milligan. She sold her home in Milligan and moved to the Villa in Milligan. Mildred then moved to the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, Nebraska where she lived until her death. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents John and Rose Weber, her husband James, son Roger, sister Dorlaine Stanley and brother-in-law Lloyd Stanley. She is survived by her daughter-in-law MaryAnn Rut; grandson Keith Rut and wife Patti; granddaughter Karen McCain and husband Todd; great grandchildren Micheala Rut, Emi and Sam McCain; and 3 step granddaughters Janell and husband Bill Green, Ashley Reimers and Lecia Reimers; sister, Nadine and husband Kenneth Mussman and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass for Mildred will be Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milligan, Nebraska. Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday before the Funeral Mass. Visitation will begin Monday at 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Family greeting friends from 2:00 until 4:00 at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home Kotas Chapel in Milligan. Interment will be in the Milligan North Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the family.
