Nina Marie Clark Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Nina Marie (Bruning) Clark was born to Walter George Bruning and Doris (Bowen) Bruning on December 20, 1941, at Geneva, Nebraska, and passed away February 8, 2014, at Heritage Crossings in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 72 years, one month and 18 days. She was one of six children in the family. Nina attended Bruning High School and graduated with the class of 1959. She then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where she worked at Miller and Paine. She met Joel Ketzbeck and they got married and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska for a short time. Then they moved to Wittier, California where she worked various jobs. They had one son, James, while living in California. Nina and James moved back to Nebraska where she started to work at Fillmore County Hospital. She met David Clark while working at the hospital. Nina was married to David Charles Clark of Geneva, Nebraska on December 13, 1974, and to them two children were born, Charlie and Dorie. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She always had a hug or a fresh baked cookie or something to drink. She never put herself first, she always cared about everyone else. She couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone she knew or took care of. Nina was a CNA at the Fillmore County Hospital for 40 years. She took pride in everything that went on there. She took care of so many people. She was always able and willing to go above and beyond for those who need her help. There wasn’t a patient who she didn’t put every effort into helping them. She also loved animals, especially cats. Her children remember there was never a time when she didn’t have a cat or dog at some point. Nina was preceded in death by two infant sisters, parents Walter and Doris, husband David, stepson Mark Clark, and grandson Bryant Mussman. She is survived by brothers Stan and Carol Bruning of Geneva, NE, Ross and JoAnn Bruning of Minden, NE, and Wayne Bruning of Tucson, AZ; sons Jim Ketzbeck of Lincoln, NE, Charlie Clark of Geneva, NE; stepsons David and Cindy Clark of York, NE, Gordon and Darlene Clark of Munford, AL, Bradley and Star Clark of Geneva, NE; daughter Dorie Crooks of Hastings, NE; stepdaughters Tami and Dave Dittmer of Ohiowa, NE, Lynn and Rex Mussman of Ohiowa, NE, Connie and Fred Spiker of Tolleson, AZ; a grandson, 16 step-grandchildren, and 24 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the United Church of Christ, Geneva, NE on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, with Reverend Bill Switzer officiating. Casket bearers were Charles Clark, Gordon Clark, Bradley Clark, James Kile, Rex Mussman and David Dittmer. Honorary casket bearers were David Means and Xavier Crooks. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery with Farmer and sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Memorials are directed to the family.
