Orlin L. "Roy" Chapman
June 27, 1936 - February 16, 2013
Orlin LeRoy Chapman was born to Hugh Chapman and Dorothy Bartholemew Chapman on May 27, 1936 at Glenville, PA. and passed away on February 16, 2013 at the Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Fairmont, NE, at the age of 76 years. Roy went to school in the Salem and Latonia, Ohio, area where his family lived. He also lived in Maffet Heights and Masselion, Ohio. In Masselion he went to Washington School and graduated from the 8th grade but had to quit school and go to work. Roy later married and had children. He was employed as a contractor and did this sort of work for 50 years. He moved his family to Nebraska in the 70’s and they lived in the Guide Rock, NE area. Roy was married to Connie of Sutton, Nebraska on May 16th, 1981. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church since 1981. 30 year member of the Sutton Lions Club and he joined the Chapparral Motor Cycle Club in 1985 and was a member for 22 years. He was preceded in death by parents, sister Mary Knott, and brother-in-law Myron Schoenhals. He is survived by his wife Connie of Grafton, sons Ron Howard of Columbus, OH, Kendall O’Neal of Wellington, KS; daughters Karen Shanklin of Brewster, OH, Linda Zimmer of Navarre OH, Sherry Chapman of South Haven, KS, Terri Schneider of Crystal, MI; sisters Pat Schoenhals of Fairmont, NE, Beth Brown of Grand Island, NE; 17 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton, NE. No public visitation-viewing at the church only.
