Rex W. Bahe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rex Wayne Bahe was born to William and Malinda (Domeier) Bahe on September 13, 1938 in Ohiowa, NE and passed away July 1, 2016 in Lincoln, NE at Bryan Medical Center at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 18 days. He was one of 12 children in the family. He was raised in Ohiowa and graduated from the Ohiowa High School in 1957. He then served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He lived in Geneva for a short while and then moved to Shickley while working for Fillmore County Roads Department. He was employed there for 47 years. Rex was married to Stella (Peggy) Roberts on January 7, 1963 and had three children. Stella passed away in 1986 and he married Elaine Cullen on January 28, 1989. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shickley, NE. He enjoyed the outdoors, his family, working, farming with his brothers, his children's and grand children's activities. He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers, Marvin, Elmer, Kenneth, Wilmer, Lowell, Keith and Lester; 2 sisters, Ruth and Lucille; and wife Peggy. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Elaine; Daughter Beverly and Ron Kimminau of Hastings; Sons: David & Kari Bahe of Wood River, Jerry Bahe of Vancouver, WA; Step Daughters: Deb & Kurt Klover of Hebron, Cheryl & Rich Koch of Hebron, Jo Cullen of Kansas City, KS, Terrie & Jay Odum of Plattsmouth, NE; Step Son Dustin & Nicole Cullen of Fairfield, NE; One Sister, Betty Colgrove of Oregon; one Brother Max Bahe of Ohiowa, NE; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Funeral services for Rex were held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shickley United Methodist Church. Pastor Scharleen Cross officiated the services. Marti Alfs accompanied the congregation in the singing of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers for the service included Nathan Bahe, Charlie Peterson, Dylan Bahe, Jared Koch, Joey Koch, and Kory Klover. Interment was held in the Ohiowa Public Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the family for future designation. Farmer & Son Funeral Home conducted the services.
