    November 27, 1928 - May 14, 2011

    Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, NE. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska. Public visitation will begin Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:30 until 8:00. Thomas Lee Blevins was born to Robert Samual Blevins and Stella (Higgins) Blevins on November 27, 1928 at Kansas City, Kansas and passed away on May 14, 2011 at Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, Nebraska at the age of 82. He was one of 8 children. Thomas graduated from Nebraska City High School, Nebraska City, NE in 1948. He served in the Army 1948 - 1952. He worked in Lincoln at the Buick Dealership until 1962. Then, he moved to Geneva where his occupation included service manager at a gas station and a parts manager. Later, he managed hotels. Thomas was married to Anna Mae Stava on February 22, 1953 in Nebraska City, NE. To this union, six children were born. Thomas was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, VFW, American Legion, Elks, York Rite of Free Masons and Shriners of Hastings, NE. He enjoyed many activities including bowling, his miniature train collection, camping, golfing, woodworking, sports and time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He was a member of the Men’s Bowling Association for over 40 years. Thomas was preceded in death by Robert S. Blevins (father) Nebraska City NE, Stella Higgins Blevins, (mother) Nebraska City NE, his sisters: Betty J. (Blevins) Blood, Hyannis, NE, Mildred (Blevins) Rebuck of Nebraska City, NE, by brothers: Robert Blevins, Alabama, Donnie Blevins, Alabama, Patrick Blevins, Lake Preston, South Dakota, brother-in-law: Jerry Higgins, Nebraska City, NE, and daughter: Linda Blevins, Nebraska City, NE. Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna Mae (Stava) Blevins, Geneva, NE, children: Thomas L Blevins Jr. and wife Sandra, Sioux City Iowa, Debra (Blevins) Sole and husband Arnold, Leavenworth, KS Ralph Blevins and wife, Laura, Great Bend KS, Christine (Blevins) Picard and husband, Daniel Picard, Crete, NE, Robert S. Blevins and wife, Sharon, Stromsburg, NE, and Marie (Blevins) Rewerts, Clay Center, NE, and 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
