Del Tatro

Don Del F. Tatro known to his family and friends as Del was called to his eternal rest on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Veteran Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. Del went to school in Geneva and spent most of his life here. On June 4 1961, he was united in marriage to Fauna E. DuBois. He farmed until he was called to active duty in the United States Army in August of 1961. He was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado where his first son Greg was born in February 1962. After one year he returned home to farm and his second son Kurt was born July 1963. In 1964 Del left the farm and moved his family to Shickley. He drove for Lichti Brothers Transport. He made many good friends and enjoyed driving for them. In 1972 he moved his family back to Geneva and started driving for Wynn Transport of Omaha. He retired in 2002 after 30 years because of health issues and concerns of being able to drive safely. Del and Fauna enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with family and friends. Del enjoyed his family, brothers Keith, Stanley and Sterling and when ever they got together it was always a party. His sister Sheila jumped right in whenever she was home. Christmas was always fun and a special time for the family. Del was preceded in death by his parents Don and Irene Tatro, two nieces Denise and Dianne Gilliam and his father-in-law Wayne DuBois. He is survived by his wife Fauna of Geneva, sons Greg and wife Pat of Grand Island, Nebraska, Kurt and wife Debra of Geneva, Nebraska; 2 grandsons Gabriel and wife Michelle Rother of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Logan of Geneva, Nebraska and 2 granddaughters Alexandra of Omaha, Nebraska and Valerie of Geneva, Nebraska; brothers Keith & wife Dona and Stanley and Connie all of Geneva, Sterling and wife Nancy of Highland Ranch, Colorado and sister Sheila Gilliam of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Vernon & Pat DuBois of Hastings, Nebraska Nancy and Harold Dynneson of Lincoln, Nebraska and mother-in-law Hazel Hansen of Geneva, Nebraska. A change of address has been requested for Del Tatro. Mail will be forwarded to Heaven Memorial services for Del will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Geneva, Nebraska. No Visitation - Cremation. Private family inurnment in the Geneva Public Cemetery.
