Joseph B. Morton

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva at 10:00 AM with Chaplain Aaron Phillips officiating. There will be no visitation-cremation. Memorials are to be directed to the family for a later designation. Graveside services will be held in the Exeter Cemetery. Joseph Bee Morton, was born to Joseph Bee Morton, Sr. and Eleanor (Camblin) Morton on December 1, 1938, at Edmond, Oklahoma, and passed away January 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by loved ones in Exeter, NE, at that age of 76 years, 1 month & 8 days. He was one of 8 children in the family. At the age of 16 Joe entered our United States military as part of the Army. He served our country for 5 years serving from 1954 through 1959 when he was honorably discharged. After his years in the army he moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma where he worked in the oil fields until pursuing a job in construction and carpentry. Construction and carpentry led him to his long time occupation in York, NE where he worked for Champion Homes for 34 years. Joe was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed his time in the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed his time with his family and loved them very much. Joe was married to Delores Kever on June 24, 1960 and to them 3 children were born, Teresa, Gayle & Joe. On July 3, 1976 Joe was married to Patricia Garner and to this union their one son, Jimmy was born. He was preceded in death by wife, Pat Morton; brother, Charles Morton; parents, Joe & Eleanor (Camblin) Morton; step-grandchildren, Michael Little & Natasha Schiefelbein. Joe is survived by his daughters, Teresa (Steve) Frealy of Pargburn, Arkansas; Gayle (Dale) Haferland of Columbus, NE; sons, Joe (Dawn) Morton of Columbus, NE & Jimmy (Jennifer) Morton of Exeter, NE; step-daughters, Patty Schiefelbein of Exeter, NE; Lorie Merrill of Indiana; step-son, Larry Garner of Exeter, NE; brothers, Wylie (Maxine) Morton, Billy (Bonnie) Morton; sisters, Charlene Bromley, Mary (Jerry) Bromley, Caroline Fairrington, Beth Morton and by 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
