A Graveside Service for Richard will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., in Milford, Nebraska at the Blue Mound Cemetery with Kim Dunker officiating the service. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva, Nebraska from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are to be directed to the family for a later designation. Richard Dean Jantzi was born to Roman Nicholas Jantzi and Edith Marie Anderson on November 24, 1945 at home in Milford, Nebraska, and passed away on March 28, 2018, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 72 years 4 months and 4 days. He attended Milford Public Schools growing up. In 1986 he received his G.E.D. Richard worked at many different companies doing different jobs; he worked in shipping and receiving at Port Huron in Lincoln, Nebraska, then worked in a meat packing plant in York and Omaha, Nebraska; from there he went to Oregon to work at Tele Dyne Wah Chang and then construction; Richard worked as an employee of the City of Fairmont and for Farmland in Crete; he then took jobs working at motels; Allstar Inn Motel, Motel 6 and Budget Inn Motel; He also worked at Wal-Mart. Dick was married to Karen Havel of Fairmont, Nebraska on December 14, 1963, and to them 3 children were born. His hobbies included bowling painting, drawing, cribbage, and playing cards, watching football, crafts, watching TV and fishing. Dick is survived by his wife, Karen of Fairmont; son, Scott Jantzi (Audrey Piontowski) of Grand Island; daughter, Shelly (Brent) Reed of Fairmont; granddaughter, Rachel Reed of Fairmont; grandson, Seth Reed of Fairmont; grandson Rick Vance of Washington State; great granddaughter, Aria Ross of Fairmont; brother, Ron (Linda) Jantzi of Mariopa, Arizona; sister-in-law, Ruth Jantzi of Geneva; aunt, Margaret Anderson Gresham, Oregon; brother-in-law, Les (Jan) Stutzman of Sun City, Arizona; brother-in-law, Dick Havel of Grand Island and sister-in-law, Kay (Tom) Hassler of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roman Jantzi Jr; sister, Suzanne Stutzman; son, Shane Jantzi; grandparents, Ollie and Anna Anderson; grandparents, Nicholas and Susie Jantzi; mother-in-law, Gladys Nichols and step father-in-law, Don Nichols.
